- COAGULATION REPORTS:
As part of the value-added
service package offered by DPALM, coagulation panels covering various broad categories of
coagulopathy can help the ordering clinician obtain the diagnosis in the most optimal fashion.
Pathologists will help triage the specimen for laboratory tests in the most efficient way,
typically with reflex testing protocols. A clinician can order a panel such as "prolonged
aPTT panel". Our pathology residents and staff will do all the necessary tests in the
most cost-effective way and issue a full written report to the ordering clinician. This would
relieve the primary care physician of the amount of time spent in following up the initial
test results before ordering confirmatory tests. Turn-around-time is also drastically reduced
due to this in-house monitor of laboratory test results.
- Design of the COAGULATION REPORT TEMPLATES:
This interactive module was designed to assist pathology residents in generating
interpretation report for coagulation panels. This Web-based module helps the residents select
the appropriate interpretation for a case. This interpretation can then be incorporated into
the written report (with modification if needed). Since each case requires fewer than a few
clicks on the web pages, the amount of time used for interpretation should be minimized.
This makes the COAGULATION REPORT TEMPLATES module a useful tool for training residents
in coagulopathy.
