Still Video System
MONITOR
- make sure input setting is RGB and EXT SYNC is set to ANALOG
- only bright and contrast affect picture quality
MICROSCOPE
- set light diffuser to either mid or out position
- determine appropriate light intensity
- focus according to image on monitor (this image is what will be recorded)
- adjust ND filters so eyepiece image is desired intensity (on some scopes)
CAMERA CONTROL UNIT
(Ikegami only - in gross room)
- make sure gain is set to -1
- make sure that iris is set to AUTO (dial pushed IN)

STILL VIDEO RECORDER
RECORDING
- insert still video floppy (ARROW POINTING TOWARD MACHINE)
- make sure VIDEO REC (bottom of panel) is set to: HIBAND, FRAME, and CONT
- make sure INPUT is set to RGB (if not, do so)
- 1 depress REC STANDBY so light is on
- 2 depress red REC button to record image (red light should blink once)
- up to 25 images can be recorded (on 25th image, TRACK will read 49)
- repeat step one until TRACK number displays 1 (this means that the disc is at the beginning)
PLAYBACK
- insert prerecorded still video floppy
- make sure VIDEO REC (bottom of panel) is set to: HIBAND, FRAME, and CONT
- make sure INPUT is set to RGB (if not, do so)
- 1 depress PLAY so light is on
- 2 depress + or - to advance or reverse track number
- depress AUTO PLAY for continuous or repeated playback; set INTERVAL to desired time
- depress STOP to discontinue playback and return to live image (image in microscope)
ERASURE
- insert prerecorded still video floppy
- 1 advance or reverse to undesired image track
- 2 depress ERASE STANDBY so light is on
- 3 depress ERASE to erase image (red light should blink once)
- depress ERASE STANDBY followed by ALL ERASE to clear entire floppy
CAMERA CONTROL UNIT
(SONY only)
- set COLOR TEMP to 3200K
- set SHUTTER to ON
- set W/B BALANCE to AUTO
- set GAIN to 0
- set MASTER PED in middle position (with notch pointing up)
- 1 adjust SHUTTER knob (turning to the right will darken picture)
- 2 adjust GAIN knob (increasing GAIN, increases brightness)
- * adjusting DETAIL will alter image clarity
