Downloading the provisional T. pallidum sequence in Fasta format by ftp from the Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR)

You may download the T. pallidum sequence from TIGR using a user-friendly ftp interface, or from a unix prompt as follows:

ftp ftp.tigr.org
Login: anonymous
Password: type in your email address here
ftp> cd pub
ftp> cd data
ftp> cd t_pallidum
ftp> bin (this sets the ftp mode to binary)
ftp> mget *
(Answer yes each time.)
ftp> quit

At any point, you may use the pwd and dir commands to see where you are and what files are there.
